Painting is such a large pool.  So many people seem to be drawn to it.  My wife makes weavings which she shows in galleries.  A much, much smaller pool.  But she is a pretty big (if somewhat dated) fish in that little pond.  On the other hand, paintings command a much better price than weavings.  

I sure wish I could afford to hire someone to upkeep the garden for me.  It seems that many (maybe most) of my wife's artist friends are into gardening too.  I approach it as an artistic endeavor, and probably one of the most complex .. as well as impermanent.  I guess pulling weeds takes the place of washing brushes.
