No, don't stop. Why not have a whole pantheon of tall, strapping, virile, manly, determined-minded, soft-touching, strong-thinking, loud-loving, pretty-smiling, big-eating, gentle-teasing, honey-kissing, eyes-twinkling gods?

Reminds me of the flying spaghetti monster prayer

Our pasta, who art in a colander,
Draining be your noodles.
Thy noodle come,
Thy sauce be yum,
On top some grated parmesan.
Give us this day our garlic bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trample on our lawns.
And lead us not into vegetarianism, but deliver us some pizza,
For thine is the meatball, the noodle, and the sauce, forever and ever.

I didn't ask you to recite anything. This is just a parody of the 23rd Psalm that I made up for fun.  I guess I took it for granted that people would recognize it since it's such a part of American culture. If you compare what I've written to the original and see it for what it is then maybe you will understand what I was trying to do.  I'm a poet not a scientist and I like to play with words and have fun.  It would be different if I proffered this as some kind of  philosophy for you guys to follow, but I did not.

Naw, people are just reacting to the thought of institutional atheism and the idea of a prayer .. ugh, yucky.  But I thought it was clever word play and fun.  You might have to toss in the occasional emoticon next time but please do keep sharing.

Institutionalized atheism? As likely as a flock of eagles.
