And I knew your gender from some of your posts. Or, more accurately, I knew what gender you indicated you were from your posts.
If anyone is interested in doing an experiment, one may wish to sign up at a forum with a name of the opposite gender of what one is, and tell everyone that one is of that opposite gender. Then post for a while (preferably a month or more), and see how one is treated with that gender. I think many people would be surprised with the results, though obviously a lot will depend on what forum one chooses and what one chooses to post there.
