It that how 'rational thought' works in your world? Pair someone or Something like God with a negative concept with absolutely nothing to back it up, and then make a sweeping move to dismiss based on what? That's how John stewart does it when he does want to address something topically, yet want to triumph over something?

Your problem is that you believe in the message, without allowing your brain to do the job it must do.

What makes you think that? What evidence do you have to support your assertion? Is everything you think based on the fact I do not agree with you? If so aren't you appealing to a bigoted anti-christian sterotype?

Then please by all means, demonstrate this 'rational' you speak of.

 When you do that, you are ignoring the fundamentals of being human.  Rather, you would make yourself inhuman.

Sweetheart didn't your mama tell you then even when people don't act rationally, they still retain their humanity? That a thought process or state of mind does not eliminate a birth right? We are born human sport, nothing we can say, do or don't do, will ever change that. We simply live in different spectrums of said humanity, depending on how rational we act.. or don't act..

Religion does not celebrate who we are.

Because according to most of you we are little better than monkeys who'd rather be fling poo at one another.
Let me ask you have you ever had a puppy? Now did you let the puppy 'celebrate himself' by eating whatever shoes he want to chew on, pooping and peeing when and where he wanted, eating what and when he wanted.. Or did you demand that his will conform to your own by putting restrictions on his behavior?

Even if you are some hopeless hippy who ruins dogs by letting them do whatever they want, know that vast majority of the people alive and who have ever lived do not want their dogs pooping in their beds or eating off their plate while they are eating.

To allow us to live out to our 'monkey/man' potential is a kin to allowing a Dog to do whatever He wants unchecked. If left unchecked long enough, the dog will turn on man/Humanity. So too do we. (ISIS, Nazi's, Taliban ect.)

Rather, religion does all it can to suppress who we are. That is not living.

That is death by religion.

I agree to a degree. Religion/Man's effort to worship God. Can be full of rules designed to suppress everything and everyone. Two of my wild Dog/man examples above have religion at their core. However Christianity, Biblical Christianity is not about rule of law but freedom from it. Freedom to worship God with all of our being.
