I like Civ II, especially its map editor. I like playng the Aztecs, so I made a large-scale map of lake Texcoco and surrounding areas with the islands, which I did also with Civ III. I also liked the Civ II Fantastic Worlds expansion. I enjoyed playing the Atlantis scenario and its tech advances.

No, that's a relatively recent addition.
I'll play any of the civs, but the one I keep going back to is the English on island maps. Ships of the Line for the win.
If my memory serves correctly cultural victory was added in Civ 4.
