well yea, the issue is that she lied about being racially harassed, abused as a child, her father's identity and her ancestry, not that she's white, obviously

If tit was a case of her identifying with her black self because her white parents had rejected her, then I can identify with it. It may come as a surprise, but there is a striking correlation between being bi-racial and being a "Late Deafened Adult" (ADA)

Only a couple years ago did I realize that I'm not alone in feeling like the mulatto of the disability world, not quite fitting into any group. As the hearing world became less accessible to me, I made a few excursions into the he deaf world. And there really is a Deaf World. People who were born deaf don't see deafness as I do, as a medical issue, but as a cultural phenomenon. They view hearing aids the same way I might view skin-lightening cream. Because I can talk, I stand out before I even try to fit in. I was told that I had to choose, that I had to identify with one world ort the other but not both. For a while I rejected that idea. But since I am by language and culture connected to the hearing world and sign language is just as inaccessible to me as speech was before I got my implant, I chose the hearing world.

Some folks may say I should have chosen the deaf world, that I am not being true to myself pretending to be a hearing person with hearing friends. But that was my choice and no matter what we choose to do, somebody somewhere will say we should have done something else, so I say fuck that.

I guess the difference is you guys can't fire me. You're stuck with me.
