You are forgetting that it is their (Jews) religious beliefs that hold them to Israel, not to mention their beliefs in prophecies as promises of God. The Jews believe that that land was given to them by Jehovah,Yahweh thus making that land sacred and an inheritance to their people. I too agree it would be much easier to just leave and rebuild somewhere else, but the lunacy that is religion is deeply rooted in their psyche, traditions, and culture.
Oh, I didn't forget it. That's why I said "home/holy" and "my personal belief".
Jews have several "quiet" neuroses they perpetuate amongst themselves - even members of the reform movement, which is the most lax. It's part of what led to the downfall of the religious portion of my cultural inheritance.
