And I'm impressed that you would vote with your feet. That might not sound like much to you, but there are theists who I've talked to for months who will never answer such a simple question without reams of caveats, dismissals and deflections. No problem! Thanks for being kind and polite to me. You asked me an honest question, it's important to answer. :-)
I agree totally that the age of consent is subjectively moral. (Of course, I think everything is subjectively moral!) However, you say there must be some sensible limit. Of course I agree. How about the age of sexual maturity, whatever that may be in a given time/culture? Would you agree that it is inherently wrong to marry and have sex with someone who hasn't reached sexual maturity?
I definitely think a certain level of sexual maturity needs to have taken place, absolutely. I mean, some women don't complete sexual maturity until they are 18 or 19, so I wouldn't say sexual maturity needs to be completely over, but a certain level of it definitely should be reached before she can consent.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
