@chad If it is the Word of God is your standard then God meets it. It also says The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged. Matt 7:2. Also as for His followers killing each other it says in 1 john 4 If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. 21 And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother. Also 2 Peter 3:9 and 1 Tim 2:4 is not a command for everyone to be saved it is a want for everyone to be saved and since he wants that he will allow His word to be spread through the earth as well wait for his final judgment day so that as many that can be saved will be saved.
@Rob if you are the standard by which you are judging God how do you know you are a good standard because you could be wrong.
If there is another standard you are using to judge God I would like to hear it.
Well if my word is my standard, I say I'm the best at everything. Which is obviously true, because I say it is. If we're going to go by what people say, instead of what they do, everyone is good, no one is evil, and we all deserve everything we want. Which would probably end up with everyone simultaneously praising everyone else for being king and queen of everything.
My exact standards and guidelines are how I was raised, and my life experience. Which is admittedly subjective, but so is morality as a whole. I may agree with a few things that the bible says, but I disagree with a lot of it. Including the main message, which is that I need to devote my life to someone who refuses to show himself.
If someone says I love god, yet hates his brother, he's a liar. yet anyone who wishes to follow god, and doesn't hate his friends, family, and even his life, isn't worthy of Jesus. So you have to love and hate your brother, at the same time, which means no one is getting into heaven. Super.
