Saying god wouldn't do it is feeble, because he did do it at least twice in the bible. On one of those occasions, they went through with it, they killed and burned their own daughter as part of a bargain with god. Most of them are totally ignorant about their favorite ethnocentric Middle Eastern religious fairy tale. Heck, 99.9999999999999999999999% of them don't even know the real Ten Commandments. They just go with the BS edition.
There is only one religious theist I've ever seen answer this question directly, and that is Huggy. He said no, and for that I give him credit both for making a stand and having the balls to answer the question.
I'd happily answer any hypothetical question anyone put to me, no matter how impossible or contrived, to the best of my ability. I'm confident my worldview is solid. It's very telling that you don't have to go far with some religious theists before they stop being able to do the same.
