But really, isn't this the same problem as the double slit experiment?
I don't know if it is because I can't do the math and can't be current on the topic.

I thought there was an equivocation problem with the word observation in that the popular media thought it meant somebody actually looking and the physicists thought it meant 'interacted with some other wave.'
If I remember correctly, the observation issue with the double slit thing was covered by the 'sum over histories' formulation and that 'observing' at one slit eliminated all the paths that didn't go through the observed slit. This includes paths that go backwards in time (Wheeler's delayed choice.)
I'm not sure the popular media (e.g. Daily Mail) has the background or motivation to offer cogent analysis.
I'm not even sure the physicists do.
The world isn't just stranger than I imagine, it is stranger than I can imagine.

So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat? Huh
