Well that's funny because the Earth is NOT egg-shaped. It's a near-perfect sphere which bulges out in the middle, making the distance around the equator the longest point of circumference - about 40,075 km. Yet pole-to-pole the distance is only 40,008 km. Have you ever heard of an egg with a shorter circumference top-to-bottom than around the middle? It's the exact reverse of egg shaped. Eggs have the longest point of circumference top-to-bottom.
