I'm looking at the results of the poll.
I myself assumed that most theists who come here do so with the intent of trying to convert. I'm surprised that I was wrong and that only 1 out of 3 theists who come here do this, and that the majority really just come here for discussion and that's it.
I think the results of this thread are definitely something to keep in mind when a new theist shows up on the forums. Take it a little easier on us and don't assume we're all trying to convert people all the time.

"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
