South Eastern part of Bulgaria, The Rodopi Mountains and all the settlements in these regions were islamized. More than 50% of the people in these settlements are Turkish (Muslims).
Where do you live?
A bad look and being killed aren't really the same thing.
You'd get a bad look and possibly worse in many situations, e.g. in America with white people in a black neighbourhood, or vice versa. I'm not excusing it, rather saying it is not just a result of a particular religion.
There are many things that divide people:
Religion
Class
Money
Cultural Background
Skin colour
Country
Sex/Gender
You'll see all these things causing division between people. In many cases it is more than one of these, which I would say is the case with many Muslim conflicts.
