The problem is, those aren't conservative social views, those are Christian social views.  Conservative social views are more centrist, given the American scale.

I think the main problem is that most, if not all, politicians don't know what it means to be poor or to be working for a minimum wage. That's especially true for American politicians and I would be hard pressed to name any president within the last three decades that hasn't been born with the silver spoon in his mouth.

Obama seems to be the first one, since - oh, the irony - Nixon.
