Fact 1: Jesus died by crucifixion.

Show me how this has been refuted in this thread, Ian. Just the post numbers if that makes it easier for you.

Or attempt something fresh on your own.

What evidence is there that the ancient historians who referenced this event WERE WRONG? Or that the modern NT scholars who have spent their entire lifetimes studying that source materials are simply in error when they accept the crucifixion of Jesus as a historical fact?

Okay, you're wasting my one and only existence because you refuse to accept that your reasoning is at least flawed. So, this will be my last response to you.

Look at post #7. He shows how your logic can be applied to any story. Does #7 Prove that Star Wars is true? I doubt it.

Did Lucas claim to be writing history? If we were to throw him in prison and threaten him with death, would he be willing to die rather than deny that Obi-Wan Kenobi rose again (v. being a fictional character in a story he made up from scratch). Lucas would think you were nuts for even asking the question.

Conversely, the gospel writers were not willing to recant their claims that Jesus rose from the dead because they did not believe - they KNEW - that he had risen, and no amount of torture or even death could persuade them to deny it.
