Christians try to run away from this, but in reality, that's what they believe.
They may try to wrap in some pretty, theological language, but it doesn't change a thing.
I would wait on this, if you receive and financial aid from your parents for college or whatever. Wait until you are in a place where you have the means to be independent. I've heard some horror stories.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
