What exactly is cringe worthy about saying atoms are plentiful in the universe? I'd say odds are pretty good in a universe full of 100s of billions of galaxies that life exists elsewhere and I am sure it won't be long that we will at a minimum prove that microbial life exists elsewhere in our solar system or at least that it can survive on it's own. Mind you I don't mean life as in conspiracy crap like Area 51, but simply it is possible for life to adapt on different planets in the universe. 

And also what is cringe worthy about saying the god of the gaps is not an argument? It isn't. Allah nor Yahweh nor Vishnu nor Thor explain anything other than that humans have vivid imaginations.

Everything is made up of atoms, life or not. The existence of atoms isn't conducive to the existence of life.

That being said, the idea you intended to portray is accurate as far as I'm concerned. The likelihood that life exists at least once somewhere else in the universe is almost a certainty.

Huh, no sorry, but individual atoms that make up all forms of carbon are plentiful. I didn't say we had a smoking gun yet, I said we should expect to at a minimum prove life can exist off of this earth, for example, putting a water bear in a pool of water on the Martian ice cap, or a moon of Jupiter or Saturn.

I am playing the odds of the size of the universe. I think we are not on different pages here. I think you are arguing semantics.

Pollination theory has lots of merit. If you could DVR the history of our solar system's bombardment from asteroids and comets and gas clouds in it's revolving around the center of the galaxy in our solar system's 4 billion year history, it is easy to see the materials constantly moving around either as atoms or molecules.
