There's a good video I saw that compares praying to "God" with praying to a jug of milk. They both have the same effect! If you pray to the jug of milk, what you pray for may happen right away! In that case, you can say, "The jug of milk heard my prayer and answered it!". Or, what you pray for may not happen for awhile (weeks, months, years, even decades). In that case, you can say, "The jug of milk heard my prayer and answered in its own good time!!" Or, what you pray for may never happen. In that case you can say, "The jug of milk heard my prayer, but the answer was no".
