My point is that only a person's genes are passed on to the next generation, not necessarily all their qualities. So, it would be wise to ignore a few personality flaws in a person provided they have great genes. And you don't even need to meet a person to determine if they have good genes; you just need their DNA. I just happen to believe that good genes in a partner are more important than superficial qualities.
Edit: This is true only if your end goal is making a healthy baby. If you're just using the dating process as a surrogate for companionship, personality and looks would trump genes.
