One should know algebra for dose calculation, yes. The loss of a drug in a person's system is an exponential decay curve. Given a dose of a drug, it will still be in one's system at a later time than the next recommended dose. That, and having a vial of a concentrated medicine that requires dilution prior to administering it isn't a time to sit and dope it out. The conversion should be second nature to avoid over- or under-dosing. I'm not sure what geometry would do for nursing. I guess having to figure out proofs would provide some orderliness of mind, i.e., the flow of logic.
