While Tiberius' sock puppet could be seen as baiting RevJ. I do not think it was intentional. I think it was more of an inability to foresee the consequences. As for Shell's, I don't see how she could have foreseen what would happen there. Also, the mods are not responsible for the people that got all hot and bothered and decided to jumped in to defend the enemy of their enemy. These people voluntarily joined the conversation thinking they had an ally towards the people they did not like, and they bear some of the responsibility.
Even so, it was just prank, and the fact that it brought out the bad in some people is not the fault of the prank. I do think, however, the staff could have realized that this would be seen as baiting, and with foresight could have prevented this.
Anyways, that's my two cents, and I think everyone should just forgive and forget. Let bygones be bygones, so to speak. The hostile fallout of this prank is not necessary.
