Objections to the April Fools Day prank.

I wasn't around lately, but I read a bit about what happened the other day. I don't think creating sock puppets and trolling the forums for "less than 3 weeks" (or any amount of weeks) is an April Fool's joke. I do wish the mods would act a bit more as an example for others to follow, by obeying their own rules, otherwise they just come off as immature. If you're going to break the rules to be funny, at least be tasteful.

Don't expect this post to be around in a day or two. All the ones I wrote where Shell flamed me for asking about her mock puppet are gone. Did you know the mods read out PM's? Pretty weird shit. Kind of like the Stepford Forums, a very glossy surface.

We only wanted to align with y'alls expectations of a bigger and bigger April Fools. Something special that the staff spent a lot of time scratching their heads over.

We never wanted to provoke this. We never wanted to present an opportunity for an I-hate-Shell-fest or frighten any of you.

I've been rather sad over the vitriol from this -- sometimes I wonder that this community is so large, so angry that the benefit of the doubt is not given, and instead it is assumed to be out of malice.
