Well not to worry Richard, I'm your new Christian friend, and I won't be shunning you like your old ones did! How terrible, no wonder you left the church if there were people like that there! Tell them, from me, that they are all called to WITNESS their faith, not force their beliefs and hurt people who disagree with them.
By the way, in Australia the Anglican Church and their organizations (specifically Anglicare) hands out more free food, clothing and money to those in need than any other NPO or church including the Catholic Church. And of course, there isn't discrimination. If your church cared about you, they would assist you without trying to coerce you into returning to them.
