There's lots of symbolism and rituals, and the wheel of seasonal celebration, and magic(k). The is a duality in deities God and Goddess...although some wiccans only worship the goddess. On the same note there are many different types of wiccans, and eclectic wiccans who mix and match.
I really like your story, and wanted to say welcome personally I'm curious as to what Wicca is exactly?
It sounds like you've had a rough road.. I have been gravely ill for years and it wasn't until I realized that no god was there guiding my recovery, that I began to guide my own. I even went so far as to refuse life saving treatments to see if god healed me. Then I almost died. Btw Christian guy I don't need any hubbub from you about the morality of medication and god and how I was 'doin it wrong'. Been all over that with some of your other acolytes.
So anyways K2940 thank you for sharing and I look forward very much to your future posts.
and thanks for you interest in my posts
At least with Wicca it has a grounding in reality.....the cycle of the year and seasons.....the duality of all things...good/bad, male female. It seems to be a natural path from organised mainstream religion (mainstream-Naturalism/ Wiccan - atheism)
I love following the cycle of the year. Makes more sense to me; but I don't go in for the woo woo. To acknowledge the duality of any situation is the beginning of wisdom (not it's end) and to think for oneself irrespective of popular opinion is the beginning of the journey.
