First 4 words of the article on Buddhism.
I fail to see how your statement has any validity AH
Perhaps you are getting Buddhism confused with Hinduism??
"Buddhism is a religion".
Usually, when an Encyclopedia says something like this, it means it. I'm not confusing Buddhism with Hinduism, you are confusing the definition of a religion with something that only exists in your own mind apparently. Buddhism has always been a religion. Religions don't always require theism as a central tenet. If you thought this was true, you were wrong.
And Wikipedia is an acceptable reference?? (It certainly is handy)
Buddhism is a religion and philosophy encompassing a variety of traditions, beliefs and practices, largely based on teachings attributed to Siddhartha Gautama, commonly known as the Buddha (Pāli/Sanskrit "the awakened one").
Oooooooooooooooooo we are touchy tonight aren't we??
So you are saying that Atheism is a religion??
Quote:A religion is a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a supernatural agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.[1] - Wikipedia
What are your thoughts on Zen??
"The Universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements: energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest." G'Kar-B5
