Skip the sect of Christianity for a second. And lets also skip child molestation for a second.
The act of forcing yourself on either a kid or adult for that matter is not driven by magic, or a guy with a pitchfork fucking with the neurons in your brain. The act of sexual assault is done for the same reason a parent physically abuses their kid, and the same reason a bully on a playground bullies other kids. POWER AND CONTROL.
It is a horrible mistake to say that because no sex is involved, and even no physical abuse is involved, that damage to the victim mentally never happened. You don't need physical scars to be mentally damaged by others.
But sexual assault and verbal abuse both leave scars and both are for the perp a way of asserting dominance through force. Rape is about bullying, sex is the release, not the trigger. But neither are about a super hero battling a guy with a pitchfork over the neurons in your brain.
Now if religion were a cure to stop rape, knowing the majority of Americans have some sort of sect of Christianity, then what would be the majority belief of those arrested for sexual assault, of either sex, of both children and adults. Here is an FBI report on rape.

If America is a majority Christian, then the majority committing those rapes are going to be Christians. Just like if you surveyed India and their rapes, the majority there who commit them would be Hindus. Just like if you surveyed rape in Iran or Saudi Arabia, same thing.
