Why was Michael Jackson stigmatised so harshly?

That said, I don't think this is that good of an argument against Mike potential being guilty. After all, what kind of parents would let their child sleep on the same bed with Mike in the first place? The same kind of parents who would just settle for the money even if in reality their child was molested.

If you listen to Macaulay you'll understand that much is a misunderstanding. MJ let children sleep in "his bed" and he went and slept in the guest bed (that's from the 2003 Living with Michael Jackson).

No I'm not, I'm just interested in the stigma. I do absolutely love some of his songs, but most of them do not do much for me. In fat the only songs of his I really like are "You are not alone" and "Heal the world". Thriller, Billy Jean, etc don't do it for me.

So Michael was complicit with creating his image or stigma, or whatever you want to characterize it as.

That's a different stigma though. Even if you might say that was his fault (though why doesn't Novak Djokovic receive the same stigmatisation then?) that doesn't mean other things he was stigmatised for are fair.

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke
