Why was Michael Jackson stigmatised so harshly?

I doubt that he molested any children while he was belting out the hits, I can enjoy his songs regardless of that - genius is genius, but it isn't an all inclusive pass.  A person can be good at songs and bad at life.

I never really liked his kind of music. But I agree with you on that. If we go down the path of damnatio memoriae, we'd have to include Lewis Carroll too. He's at least rumored to not having the cleanest thoughts when he wrote Alice in Wonderland for his child muse.

When I think of Jackson though, this is always at the forefront of my memory.
