OK,
current Science News reports observations with Spitzer Space Telescope show the dimming of Tabby's Star is not synchronized when viewed in IR and UV light.
The upshot of that is it's dust doing the dimming. If it was a solid object of whatever type, the dimming in UV and IR would be synchronized.
It's still a damn weird star, there appears to be an unusual amount of dimming/brightening intrinsic to the star itself too.

The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
