I believe because I understand what it is I believe in. I choose to conclude what I must, based on knowledge I have.
A non believer doesn't believe because they are forced to conclude what they know, which in this case is a lack of information of the subject... ie they are ignorant of the subject.
Any clearer?
Nope. You've just made your baseless assertion for a 3rd time. Doesn't matter how detailed you make your baseless assertion if it's still baseless.
Can you actually substantiate your claim that believers believe because they understand and atheists don't because they're ignorant?
Quote:Ignorance used here isn't a slur... more an assertion of fact.Actually, this is the 4th time that you have made that baseless assertion.
Quote: Adrian acknowledged when we last talked about this that the default position on faith is ignorance. You're born not knowing/ giving intellectual assent. That is a different point though. That is different to your specific assertion that atheism=ignorance and theism=understanding (to paraphrase you).
Quote:Personally, and I think you would agree, I think a person cannot believe against what they rationalise to be true. Hence all atheism must be ignorant of theism.
I'm not at all ignorant over what I perceive to be the delusion of theism.
