Wonderful. Now I know you already said that you realized you may be assuming too much about why others would own something like a dream catcher. I still think you are looking at the reasons in too much of a black and white way. "Because it looks cool" is a beauty assessment, which is an aspect of art. As an artist myself, I see art as something to be shared both within and between cultures. Imitation is also the greatest form of flattery, and that works as long as credit is given to the source of the inspiration. Unless I am ripping off art and calling it my own, why would this ever be a problem? As others have said, nobody is burning or disgracing these cultural pieces in any of these cases.
