The Republicans used a technical procedural move to (wrongly) deny Garland possible confirmation. Democrats consistently try to use last minute unfounded slander to ruin reputations, i.e. Bork, Thomas, and now Kavannauh. It's disgusting.
Removing an elected official from office and not confirming a nominee for appointment to an office are vastly different things.
If I was interviewing someone and found that a previous coworker accused them of embezzling and passed a lie detector; I wouldn't convict them in court without more evidence, but I would be entirely comfortable in not taking a chance on hiring them. I can find another prospect.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.
