If it is just the bigger religions then Scientology has to be the winner for my money, followed closely by Mormonism. They are both just so obviously crap it is hard to believe anybody could take them seriously.
If the smaller cults are in the mix then most of them are certainly right up there. People like Jim Jones and David Koresh and Applewhite and Sun Myung Moon may have been charismatic individuals but to see them as anything but self-aggrandizing con artists or delusional fools takes willful blindness.
