I apologize for saying "state school" when I should have said something like "mediocre school." I'm aware that there are plenty of good people in state schools, and plenty of mediocre people in non-state schools.
Reading back over what you wrote, I see that your comment was more about a certain "undergrad mentality" than commentary on state schools.
