Asking most atheists about immaterial or supernatural things, is like asking a dog to meow. It's not in the personal landscape of possibilities or most of their definitions. There are a ton of imaginary possibilities. None give it any meaning though. Meaning is from the individual. Why a plate? Why only one witness? Why there, Why then? What does that mean to you? It could have been a Shinigami fart for all anyone knows. The question really isn't what made it happen, it's why did it happen and what does that mean to you?
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post
