Everybody knows that scary black guns make sane people into killing machines!
They're EEEVVVIILLL!
Oh? You disagree with old slogan & deflection "guns don't kill people. People kill people"?
Well, welcome to the dark side /s

All this is pointless anyways.
In the same way that despite it being illegal to drive under the influence, people still get into a car wasted and drive off, and get an impromptu flying lesson along with whoever poor smuck was unfortunate enough to go for an evening walk; it has for all the laws and regulations of gun ownership and acquisition. Assholes will obtain guns, one way or another, regardless.
Dancing around this is missing the point about the situation surrounding guns and their use, which IMO is the unhealthy fetishism
In the end of the day, guns are a tool for assault/defense as well as hunting game and just all-round maiming & killing stuff, from paper silhouettes to people.
It’s perfectly possible for a country to be awash with guns and have extremely low levels of gun crime and gun accidents. I agree that it isn’t so much the guns themselves as it is how gun ownership is viewed.
When you enshrine gun ownership as a right, you inexorably foster a higher level of gun tragedy than when you have a culture that views gun ownership as a privilege that can be taken away.
