QED
Quote:2) (re: other avatars you've mentioned) It's termed, I believe, as having a sense of humor. Immorality shouldn't have to do with enjoying sex. Unless you're religious, of course.
Oh really? That's what you call a sense of humor? Again, that's why one would get the impression atheists are immoral hedonists. I mean, I don't blame you. If there is no God, that is the highest possible moral attitude.
Quote:3) I was being ironic - of course most of us are hedonists.
Exactly. And hedonism almost everywhere in the world is considered immoral. So, that's where the reputation comes from.
Quote:4) I expect you to think that this is the internet and therefore a virtual playground for the bizarre and limitless self-expression.
I think anonymous forums allow people to be who they really are.[/quote]

Oh, the problem is with me, is it? The fact that nearly the entire world, civilized or tribal would consider those avatars offensive, the fact that many countries would jail you for them isn't enough testimony for you. The problem is mine is it?
Quote:It's people like you that equate an unwillingness to repress sexuality as immoral that further these stereotypes. I suggest that if you get the impression of immorality from sexual discussion that you should reasses your own moral stance.
I think if you don't have enough self-control to repress your sexuality in public then you should reasses your moral stance.
