I was thinking a bit about the logistics, etc. that Cinjin was referring to. I can imagine that it could be a fair amount of work to do so.

As both of my suggestions are member nominated, I would propose that nominations would be collected by a volunteer each month, and a winner chosen by a plurality of the vote by members (via a private poll, perhaps).

Alei - the awards you're thinking of are the annual awards that all members are free to vote on. We were adding new and more pertinent categories.

As for the member of the month and post of the month, that has another way of generating...like Shell said. We might have to hit a few admins over the head or show some cleavage or something to get it working again.

Thanks for including me in the thumbs up, cthulu, but my usual smartassery doesn't help much around here except as window dressing. Oro and DP and Rhythm and Epimethean and several other members here are phenomenal posters and amazing people.

Well, there obviously needs to be Best Asshole of the Month... I may need to step up my game if I want to win that though.

Momentary thought:

I think most all of the regulars here all have a brilliant post at least once in awhile. I have my list of favorite members on this site as well and several of them are not on the Top Members List every week, some are. If there was a way to better recognize them, I would be all about designing something up, but it has to be something that can be maintained month after month.
