Well, to be fair, the IRA bombed other Christians for the most part.

Blowing oneself up is a relatively new concept with improved munitions that are smaller and more destructive.

Bet you dollars to donuts that if such existed in medieval times, Christians and Muslims both would've seeded suicide bombers among civilian populations.

After all, the Crusaders utterly butchered Jerusalem when they took it, choosing it to be a good time to wipe out the local Jews while killing the Muslims.

There is little compassion seen, but much barbarism.

I never thought I'd see anyone use the phrase "to be fair" while discussing the IRA. Just my take on it but I don't think the religious views - if any - of the victims makes any difference to the outcome. It may have been the justification for targetting them but bombs are notoriously indiscriminate weapons at the best of times and I rather suspect that someone setting one in a public space is demonstrating a total and callous disregard for the lives of innocent men, women and children.

I do take your point about the suicide aspect of such terrorists, however the Japanese kind of got there long before bin Laden and friends were gleams in their father's eyes and presumably weren't even the first to come up with the concept. The modern crop of terrorists do seem to have popularised it though.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Currently, I would agree that Islam is leading the pack in barbaric violent behavior, but this is only because Christianity has managed to evolve a little faster. (still took 2000 fucking years ... but a little fast none the less.)

There really should be no doubt by now that the primary principles of Christianity are equally abhorrent to Islam. Christians just figured out that it's a lot easier to sell if they keep the wife beatings, the hate crimes, the bigotry and the child molestations in the closet.

I think it is less that "xtianity" evolved and more that Western society evolved to the point where it wouldn't put up with their bullshit. I don't trust xtians, today. I think when they look at the ayatollahs and the other muslim assholes what they mainly feel is envy that they do not have that kind of power.

THIS.
You are currently experiencing a lucky and very brief window of awareness, sandwiched in between two periods of timeless and utter nothingness. So why not make the most of it, and stop wasting your life away trying to convince other people that there is something else? The reality is obvious.
