That isn't really the point, is it? And it is debatable. I have read and carefully studied the Bible. Unlike you. Like you, however, I loathe religion and its influence. I recognize the Bible as absolute truth and you can only judge it by religious misrepresentation.

Anyway, since absolute truth is no more within your own abilities you can only speculate about my own.

Bottom line is that you have to come to some understanding beyond religious to criticize the Bible and that you won't do because it is all nothing more than political and social repression anyway.

You are short sighted.
You are mind reading again. I have read the bible and it sucks big time.
Slavery is condoned in it, genocide is commanded by god in it, genesis is in flagrant contradiction with observation, sacrificing children to please god is considered ethical, standing by as an almighty entity while kid cancer devastates young lives is not explained at all, and love for the entity that supposedly thought it all up is obligatory or you may burn in hell eternally (how is that for free will). People who assess this christian god as a benevolent god should have their head examined.

People who come beyond the religious in their understanding of the bible, like Bart Ehrmann and others who place it in historical context, mostly doubt heavily the historical exactness of the account. Evidence shows that tampering with the 'truth' was rather rule than exception. There were competing versions of the Jesus myth. The gnostics for instance who attributed no godly properties to Jesus were written out of clerical history by rivalling interpretators of the bible. And also the holy trinity thing was clearly forged into it by the so called church fathers. There are now some 3000 christian denomination all claiming their own absolute truth. This alone should be indicative of the ambiguity of the texts and the aspiration to absoluteness.

As for myself, I've never claimed absolute truth and indeed can only speculate about your abilities concerning absolute truth, as indeed vice versa also is the case. Let's get clear about it, do you claim to have the ability to identify absolute truth or not?

But I am glad you now tell us that this all is debatable. So now you're finally entering debate with verifiable evidence and will demonstrate us finally that god exists and why he is not the piece of shit that is portrayed in the bible. Let the show begin.

Why do you give a fucking link? Don't you think I could have found that myself? These people are never going to be able to think for themselves if the quickest solution is to Google their answers are they?!

Ken Miller, isn't that a christian who reads the bible?

He is, and for some reason he has no problem accepting evidence when presented to him.

The Ken Miller from the Dover trial explaining evolution as a scientific conclusion to a republican judge. How strange than that holders of that same clear (and for some absolute) truth can differ that much in their conclusions. It seems so insanely like a human enterprise this way.

Just one I thought of yesterday, while playing my guitar.

"God is like tits...If you're not allowed to see them, they're probably not real."
dog·ma

Rather than going around and around with you on what I have already repeatedly explained as a moot point why don't you help me try and understand how this wonderful thing called science works. By example rather than just your saying so over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.
What on earth are you talking about? The bible makes claims about raising the dead right? Thats not evidence is it? You have to provide scientific evidence. Because claims about raizing the dead and certain earthquakes are scientific claims. If you're talking about it actually happening in reality. Its not evidence if you just say "the bible just says its so, so therefore it is". Sure if there's scientific evidence that an earthquake happened then fine. IF there is scientific claims that raising from the dead is possible fine. Show me!
These are existence claims about reality. They are scientific claims. So give evidence.
