I just read your Coso Artifact article.

I remember when Von Daniken trotted that one out as "proof" that extraterrestrials had been here 500,000 years ago.

That is was merely a 1922 Champion Spark Plug shows how far the Woo-Woo crowd will go to delude itself.

Haha, it's clearly not even a rock. Even years later without the piece and with only a few pictures to go by, no geologist would say that is a geode. It is ludicrous. I like debunking so-called mysteries for that site. I must say that sometimes they completely confuse me. I have no answers for the Lead Masks Case. That is fucking utterly confounding.

The towels indicate that the men were expecting moisture, as do the jackets. There simply is no explanation for this. There were claims that UFOs were seen in the area on the 17th and the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy does say that towels are essential for space travel. Unfortunately, the guide was not published until more than ten years later.

The Leads Masks case is this crazy double death mystery where two men were found on a hill with a strange note, lead masks and no clues as to how they died. I literally have no clue at all.

Police found a small notebook stating:
“ "16:30 estar no local determinado. 18:30 ingerir cápsulas, após efeito proteger metais aguardar sinal máscara" ”

Which translates to:
“ "16:30 be at the agreed place. 18:30 swallow capsules, after effect protect metals wait for mask signal". ”

Followed by:

No obvious injuries were discovered at autopsy; however, a search for toxic substances was impossible as the internal organs of the two victims were not properly preserved.

Seems more like a case of shitty police work and these two bozos took something that killed them.

At least, I submit that allowing for Occam's Razor that is a more rational explanation than assuming that spacemen traveled a minimum of 8 light years to kill these two shitheads.

Haha, well, I don't think they were killed by spacemen. I simply think that it is impossible to say what killed them and why. The note clearly indicates that they had no idea it would kill them, as they were supposed to take the pills and then wait for some kind of signal. It does sound an awful lot like someone tricked them, but there is no way to say for certain. It's definitely weird, Min. What's with the masks? What was in the capsules? Why were they carrying towels and wearing recently purchased raincoats?

Haha, it wasn't raining. That's the point. Besides, who carries a towel because it is raining? Who wears lead masks to stand on a fucking hill?

Sorry, Shel...you aren't going to convince me that towels and raincoats in Brazil are part of any mystery.

Lead masks? Okay. These two may have been batshit crazy and WTF knows what capsules they swallowed but this seems more like self-inflicted wounds and shoddy police work.

Yes, obviously. That doesn't make it any less mysterious. I don't believe for a second that anything supernatural happened to them. However, when you put all of those components together, it is fucking weird. They could have easily been murdered. Again, the note indicates that they did not know the pills would kill them, assuming that is what killed them - which I agree is the most likely scenario. They clearly thought they needed what they had with them for whatever they thought was going to happen. The mystery is what they were doing out there and why they apparently took pills that killed them without knowing they would kill them.

I'm not trying to convince you of a damn thing. It's very strange to me. That is all I am saying.
