although this is more common in Egypt??

Why should you think that women garden in dresses?? Would YOU??

Some of the benefits of Western thinking is that women can wear "men's clothing" for appropriate jobs that they are undertaking mehmet.

I do garden sometimes in dresses, Kich, just not on the days I have to do work with a shovel or pick ax.

I prefer to wear a thin sundress and a big hat. NC weather isn't much different from Aussie summer weather.
I actually tend to shop here a lot and wear similar clothing in the summer.

RE: Sigh.........
Hmmm gave up that romantic nonsense ages ago.

though it COULD do with a revision??

No If I am in the garden it is with shovel and pick/ axe and I am not in the mood top get my knees hurt or bitten. Dresses are great if I am wandering other peoples' gardens and picking the fruits there-from .
Actually was thinking today that I should finish that sun-hat I have been weaving for AaaaaGGGGeeeesss!!

Projects coming back on line here. Big Grin

RE: Sigh.........
lol, 'romantic' nonsense?

I'm not always getting dirty - sometimes I'm just out gathering produce or deadheading and watering. In that case, I'm not putting on anything more than I have to. I also happen to like pretty clothes. Rhythm will be the first to tell you that we have no a/c in the house to speak of and I wander around wearing the least amount of clothing possible. Ruche works for that. As for bugs, that's par for the course in the South. I'd have to wear Rev's bib to avoid them. Sandals and a sundress and big hat are just fine for maintenance work.
