Cannabis
What is you guys's opinion on the subject?

EDIT* 5-29-09
Big Grin Thanks for the input, guys~
I think mj should be leagalised as well. Most of you have already stated my reasons why I think this, so I won't say a whole bunch on 'why'.
I've smoked a few times--nothing major--and I've been -really- high. I've always had these "revelations", though...very strange. Like, religious ones. And I've remembered things from my past that I'd forgotten.

RE: Cannabis
I think legalization of marijuana would be a very good idea for America. Too much money is spent on putting people in jail for possession and stuff like that. Cops need to worry more about arresting the REAL criminals, not the people who have a bag of pot in their pocket. I think if alcohol is legal, which is MUCH more dangerous, weed could be legal if there were limitations. Such as an age limit, like 18 or 21 or whatever.

Also, it's impossible to overdose on THC. You would have to smoke your body weight in marijuana (or maybe it's twice your body weight, something like that I don't remember) to overdose, BUT..you would pass out LONG before you had the chance to smoke that much pot! lol

I think it is perfectly fine for a couple of friends to chill at someones house all day and smoke as much fruity sticky pot as they want and eat as many cheeseburgers and pies as they want, as long as they aren't doing anything stupid like going out in public and smashing mailboxes or causing other disturbances like that.

People treat marijuana like it's heroin..I mean...come on...it's not that bad!

And, driving under the influence wouldn't be THAT big of a deal because, if you're high, you don't feel like getting up to find the keys, let alone drive anywhere! lol, in some cases anyway.

Well I'm sure I'm forgetting to say some other things that I think on this subject, but I'm a bit distracted and a bit sleepy.

RE: Cannabis
Marijuna is less dangerous then most drugs and hasch. It's less dangerous then alcohol, which almost killed myself once, but marijuna isn't that harmless that people think. Even though it in a short term percpective is, depending how much you take, is less dangerous then alcohol is it harmful in long term.

What I've heared does marijuna stay in your system for a longer while then alcohol and damages your brain as much as alcohol. It damages your short term memory, have slow reflexes and depression if used in a long time period.

Marijuna isn't good, but if alcohol is legal then this could be legal too. But I wouldn't take anything of them, not anymore.

RE: Cannabis
Legalize it, and whilst we're at it, legalize all the others. Prohibition only worsens the problem; if people want to kill themselves that's their right.

Perhaps so Adrian, but isn't that simple.

I could agree with legalzing marijuna. But the heavier drugs shouldn't be legal.

RE: Cannabis
Based on what others say and what I've been told and what I at least THINK I DO know I'd say it should be legalized in my own opinion (for whatever it's fucking worth!)...

@ Adrian - I wouldn't actually (at least always agree with the bit about 'others should be allowed to kill themselves if they want to'...

BECAUSE what about on the case of something like when someone's mentally ill and when STOPPED and PREVENTED from killing themselves after they recover they're incredibly grateful that others DID stop them and prevented them from killing themselves which they were only doing because they were ill? (or addicted or fucked up in SOME way, etc?).

I mean I'm PARTLY speaking from personal experience here actually - only it wasn't drugs it was something else. Not sure I'd wanna go in to it, at least now though...I dunno.

Although, in my case it's not because I WANTED to kill myself (I didn't want to on the contrary, I was TOO happy lol) - it was because of the way I was I easily could have done. So even though I didn't want to, what I DID want to do could have done that but I didn't know and I'm glad others intervened.

RE: Cannabis
if people are allowed to drink alcohol after the age of 18 or 21(depending on the country) they should also allow them to consume cannabis, alcohol is worse than weed
Personally, it's not God I dislike, it's his fan club I can't stand.

RE: Cannabis
Legalise it but only if we have tests that can tell us whether someone is intoxicated with it because (and just trust me on this) driving under the influence of it is really, really not a good idea.

RE: Cannabis
The problem with cannabis is the way it's taken. It'd be legalised straight away if it were a drink. Alcohol is an A class drug in the UK IIRC.

How do you tell if someone's smoking cannabis and not something a lot stronger? (apart from the consequences). Specialists see that once smoking hard drugs is accepted then there's an easy route in for more serious drugs.
