Im a layed back Christian and just thought that knowing about other religions/belief systems is a good idea (specifically atheism but hopefully generally) and so just joined this forum.

Hello.
Be interested to know more about what you believe and why.
Welcome to the forum, and FYI, atheism is not a belief system. The only thing atheism describes about a person is their lack of a belief in god. Other than that atheists come in all different shapes and sizes.

Hello, welcome to the lack of belief system.
Well then, my beliefs are that there is a God and he (he as in that God is described as Lord and that is a male description, although God is not restricted by human constraints) is the biblical God. I believe that God created the universe and didn't use evolution, Jesus died on a cross etcetera. However as atheism is a disbelief in God (which is in technicality an anti belief or something) I think it is a belief system at least, not a religion as religion implies a greater force (God maybe) although I am very open to see why I may (hopefully not) be wrong and why atheism is something else. Do you think it is a view on the world or a core concept of which you base your morals or simply just what you think?
Assalaamu allaykum bro.
That's the islamic way of greeting people in case if you didn't know that. It means "peace be upon you."
Atheism can shape one's view of the word, but it is not a worldview. Like I said earlier, atheism is the lack of belief in god, nothing more.

You are currently experiencing a lucky and very brief window of awareness, sandwiched in between two periods of timeless and utter nothingness. So why not make the most of it, and stop wasting your life away trying to convince other people that there is something else? The reality is obvious.
