The former I can agree with. The latter, not so much. He's no doubt trying to appeal to the swing votes. He's certainly not taking any GOP-faithful votes away from whatever stooge ends up in the general election, and not a damn thing is going to swing leftists to vote for the GOP either. He doesn't need to pander to conservatives (who wouldn't vote for him anyway), and he's more than intelligent to k.ow that.

I'm skeptical when any organisation (progressive or not) comes out with poll data that tends to show a majority share their ideals. Would be nice to see what questions were asked, how they define "progressive" (i.e. is it just on specific issues, or did these people call themselves progressive across the board).

Wasn't their poll, I just saw it on their show. Ill try find it tonight, they link a lot of their clips on youtube.
Polls are taken from non-partisans like Gallup, as stated in the clips. By membership, there are 72 million registered Democrats(2004) and 55 million Republicans(2006)

Where is socialism in anarchy?
Who shall build a social construct and distribute social services in a state of anarchy?
It sounds like a paradox to me.

Thats because it is the polar opposite of your political views. Remove the state and capitalism is no longer king. People will naturally come together to survive, thus the social aspect.

The social aspect? Really, I'd rather have a state that supplies me with free healthcare and education.
Banding together in a world without a state and law does not necessarily grant you any of these above. Maybe if you had an eternal surplus of any of the mentioned above, with a surplus of food that will feed you for eternity, maybe than you'd have your anarchist paradise.

Other than that, anarchy only brings destruction.

Of course you do. Thats what fascism is about. Give benefits to the aryan race, fuck everyone else.

I didnt make any promises.

Why do I need an eternal surplus. What? You think an anarcho-syndical society would completely shut itself off from the world?

BTW, I never said it was a paradise. Its merely a free society with little to no coersion. You can pretty much expect the vast majority of its citizens to be armed to ensure that people like you dont come in and try to remove their freedom. The streets will be policed by the citizens.

If something is destroyed through anarchy, then I will argue we really didnt need it to begin with. If people have to be forced in order to keep things together, then such things do not deserve to be kept together.

Shall we talk of all the things fascists such as yourself have destroyed?

How about the wonderful Republic in America? Look at what they have destroyed.

Shit gets destroyed with or without a state. Therefore what good is the state?

Who is "everyone else"?
You? Why should I give a fuck about you?
And indeed. This is a world where people look out for their own kin. I'm just doing what I have to do. Call it whatever you will. In your anarchist dream, people will continue to do the same.

From the world? You need the whole world to be like your anarcho whatever society for it to work. In either way, you're free game for anyone around you without a state, army and etc. to protect you. Your citizen militia doesn't count for nothing. Besides, the streets being policed by your "citizens", doesn't guarantee that the citizens will at some point turn their guns on eachother. With no police force that serves a law, I'm pretty sure that your idealistic society will experience a downfall.

Besides why would I come and take your freedums? Live them as you will, certainly you will sooner or later realize the folly of your dreams, and turn to a major power to supply you with order and harmony.

Well, if your worldview would be true, there would be no countries and states to begin with. Just look at nature. There exists a certain law, order and harmony amongst the creatures of the wild. What will you do if you destroy the type of order and harmony we have amongst ourselves?
It's nothing but barbarism that you speak of.

Really, what have we destroyed? People like me have created this country out of the decaying corpse of another one.
People like me have worked hard to keep it running. However, people like you are trying to destroy it. So tell me who drives things forward, and who drives them backwards.
