We're clearly talking at cross-purposes here. While everyone else is talking in terms of equality of humanity, Mehmet is coming at it from the angle of a class structure (presumably with himself at or near the top?).
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

You are publicly announcing something when you get married. Of course if you do value marriage.
How? Obviously it does not affect my life here, but you can be sure that this will affect your life over there. And the lives of your children, if you have any. I've already said much about this.

Gays and lesbians are not a sub class or a sub species. They should have the right to sign a government issued marriage license. Anyone objecting to this is merely insecure and a fear monger.
Why should it be legal? EQUAL RIGHTS! HUMAN RIGHTS! HUMAN DIGNITY!
Equal rights are amongst equals. Obviously we're equal only on equal terms.
Exactly how will it affect peoples' lives? Some random straight couple getting married has fuck all affect on me, so a gay couple doing the same will also have fuck all affect.
I didn't realise it was you who gets to choose who's equal.

Lol, you've got backbone, nice to meet you. I just finished a discussion about this on Facebook, I believe the gay community wants their marriage to be seen as acceptable to churches worldwide, I'm thinking it's not just a legal issue. I explained to some friends that Christians want to say "yes" to equality but "no" to homosexual behavior, which makes it a hard topic to vote on. I'm still not sure how I will vote.

Your beliefs have found themselves at odds with reality before, this is probably another one of those occasions. Your religion and your churches are not under attack, not by anyone (not gays, not atheists, not the government), haven't been since you folks stopped attacking each other. You have absolutely no legal grounds to "say no to homosexual behavior", none. Equality isn't a fucking buffet table..christ.

A vote hey? just remember that if interracial marriage had been subject to a vote in the '50s you would not have been able to marry your husband.
And yes, the bible was quoted to support a ban on interracial marriage.
Read this, http://www.religioustolerance.org/marracbib.htm
BTW this is a theist site and I would direct your attention to the last paragraph.
Quote:An alternate interpretation of the Bible concludes that God loves human variety. If the stories in Genesis are literally true, he created the human race with great diversity: two sexes, many races, three sexual orientations, a range of heights and body styles, hundreds of languages, etc. Interracial marriage often produces biracial children who are different in skin color and features from both parents. This increases human diversity even more. So, perhaps interracial marriage has a positive value to God.
As well as same sex marriage.

And how specifically are gays not equal?

Don't give believers a back peddle. Evolution, not a god, gives all life diversity. Since bibles are open to all sorts of interpretations, by doing such you are merely keeping the human division in place because of interpretation.

I am sorry but all monkey ape men (homo-sapien) should have the same right as everybody else. After all were the same fucking species, why do some get a fucking privilege right (just because who they are) over the rest of the population. Personally every homosapien (Humans, you and I) should have the same rights as everybody else regardless of who they are and who they love.

What this seems to boil down to is this.
Your friends dont want to 'seem' prejudiced, but want to 'be' prejudiced.

Salty does too. Salty, don't get involved in this conversation, I beg of you. Last time you trotted out your opinions on homosexuality, a number of us were forced to superkick your head off because your views were so stupid and unfounded.
