I tell you, I've seen some of this, it's fucking brutal. Some of the hits these guys take are insane. Far worse than anything in rugby or American football from what I've seen.

I played in high school.

Worst injury I saw was a broken femur. (thigh) The'crack' could be heard all over the field. I often went home with sprig marks up my back or a corked thigh.

My position was "ruck/rover" ( then resting in the back left pocket) I followed the ball, and went (jumped) for the ball when it was bounced. Hence the sprig marks on the back.

Best ever was playing our teachers, just the once. Arrogant bastards,we massacred them. .

Golf is fun to play, but watching it is an acquired taste because if you're not a golfer it's hard to appreciate what they are doing, and how hard it is.

Baseball is nowhere near as bad as cricket over here. Even the outfits they wear in cricket are boring.

I like hand egg, but my parents are from Texas where hand egg is god. They taught me to revere the hand egg. Now football as you chaps call soccer, is boring unless your playing or maybe you have a relative in the game. Baseball has no redeeming value whatsoever.

The reason yanks find the beautiful game boring is because they don't have the same fan culture as we do in Europe. Go to any premier league game and it will have a better atmosphere than any of your yankee sports.
