Objections to the April Fools Day prank.
RE: Objections to the April Fools Day prank.
Are you sure you are not making that up to continue the flaming? All of the posts are still there. Of course, you could have some sort of heretofore unknown browser issue, but somehow, I doubt that.

(Aye.)

Make a fucking poll about it, so we don't have to keep track of it in here.

Oh, and I'm not sure how technologically minded you are, but you should know that most forums can do this, and most forums do do this. We just let people know about it when they sign up.
@whateverist: Y'know what, I thought maybe we could get by this entire situation without banning people, but heck, you just had to go make it easy for me didn't you? Enough with the flamebaiting, enough with the lying, enough with inciting people through PMs and your profile. Fuck off.

I don't think creating sock puppets and trolling the forums for "less than 3 weeks" (or any amount of weeks) is an April Fool's joke. I do wish the mods would act a bit more as an example for others to follow, by obeying their own rules, otherwise they just come off as immature. If you're going to break the rules to be funny, at least be tasteful.

Don't expect this post to be around in a day or two. All the ones I wrote where Shell flamed me for asking about her mock puppet are gone. Did you know the mods read out PM's? Pretty weird shit. Kind of like the Stepford Forums, a very glossy surface.

Really? Really?

Fine Mr. "This place is corrupt. A loony bin run by the inmates." Take your fucking inquisition to your other precious forums.

We only wanted to align with y'alls expectations of a bigger and bigger April Fools. Something special that the staff spent a lot of time scratching their heads over.

We never wanted to provoke this. We never wanted to present an opportunity for an I-hate-Shell-fest or frighten any of you.

I've been rather sad over the vitriol from this -- sometimes I wonder that this community is so large, so angry that the benefit of the doubt is not given, and instead it is assumed to be out of malice.

Guess it is best we live by the old adage: fuck em if they can't take a joke.

I've tried to get as much information as I can to come to an informed decision. That decision is made and I have no desire to do more about it.

You did an awesome job, best of all I think with your puppet. The whole event was really great, I loved it. You were out of order, I have no doubt. I need say no more.

Your informed decision is bullshit. There will be no poll to determine Shell's fate, or any staff member but myself. Anyone mentioning another vote will find themselves with a warning for inciting a flame war / disorder.

Im new here and my opinion doesnt count for much
The whole thing was in parts very funny
I think creating the sock theists would have been fine.
I believe that the Little Miss Awesome thing was a step too far and also that Mods reading out PM's is a breach of trust.

I can take a joke, I have a good sense of humour, and I have been using internet forums for as long as they've existed, but the whole thing has left me feeling unsettled and wary about posting.
I will come back and see the outcome when the dust has settled, and hopefully not too many people will have been banned etc :\

How is it a breach of trust when we tell people we do it when they sign up???

That's more than most forums tell you.

Regardless, we'll try to be more mindful.

FYI = This MOD and most of the others have NEVER read anyone else's PMs. Ever.

Also, you may be under the notion that PMs are regularly read. They are not. PMs are usually monitored when there is a security issue or a repeat offender is trying to circumvent the system.

I'm telling you people ... there's no conspiracy, and please remember that if you're one of the few people that is truly pissed off, you are not held here under duress. You may exit with a simple click at any time.
