I see no more evidence for ghosts than for gods. The human brain is perfectly capable of "seeing" what it imagines or at least convincing itself that it saw something.

Not just capable, but amazingly good at it. Our brains lie to us ALL the time. Wherever the input is lacking or unclear, our brains fill in the gaps with what our memories and, yes, our desires tell it should fill those gaps. Much (Very Much) of our perception is simply our brain's best guess.

it certainly does clarify and fill in gaps. that's why 3d tv looks real and "Aoccrdnig to a rseearch sduty at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy" can be read clearly (by most).
